Jon Gibbons, RPF
Jon is a Registered Professional Forester in British Columbia with more than 30 years in the forest industry. His work spans forest management, timber appraisals, regulatory approvals, operational planning, harvesting, fibre procurement and senior leadership.
At Canfor, Jon rose from Woodlands Supervisor to Woodlands Manager in Fort St. John and Chetwynd, where he led a 29-person team responsible for fibre procurement for three mills consuming 2.8 million cubic metres of timber a year.
As Owner and Managing Forester of Amuri Forest Management, he provides forestry consulting and project management to the forestry and energy sectors: timber appraisals for oil and gas projects, industrial clearing coordination, forest management planning, and oversight of road construction and harvesting.
At Access Forestry, Jon makes sure the technology solves real field problems while keeping professional judgment, data quality, regulatory compliance and accountability where they belong: with the forester.
